Dharmaraja - cricket sixes champs

CRICKET: Dharmaraja College, Kandy won the inaugural Six-a-Side
Invitation Cricket Tournament organised by the Kandy District Sports
Development Foundation on the 22nd of October at Police Grounds.
Vidyartha College, Kandy were runners-up. 2nd runners-up were St.
Sylvester's College, Kandy.
Greenwood College, Ambatenna which started cricket a few years back,
did creditably well to come up to the semi-finals of the tournament.
The player of the tournament was Ramesh Yapa Bandara of Dharmaraja
College who scored 62 against St. Sylvester's and 44 not out against
Vidyartha.
Results:
St. Sylvester's beat Sri Rahula, Vidyartha beat Sri Sumangala,
Dharmaraja beat St. Sylvester's, Vidyartha beat Greenwood.
In the final, Dharmaraja beat Vidyartha.
Dharmaraja: 68 for 2 in 5 overs (Buwaneka Ekanayake 14, Ramesh Yapa
Bandara 44, S. Abeyratne 2 for 10).
Vidyartha: 42 for 4 in 5 overs (T. Dissanayake 13, U.B.
Wickremasinghe 11, Prathap Silva 1 for 7, Rohana Ekanayake 1 for 7,
Tharaka Silva 2 wickets for no runs).
St. Sylvester's became 2nd runners-up beating Greenwood, Ambatenna.
Greenwood: 40 for 5 in 5 overs (M. Rizky 19, M. Rashad 11, M. Safraz
3 for 5).
St. Sylvester's: 41 for 1 in 3.1 overs (C. Colambage 19, S.
Embilmeegama not out 23, M. Rifkan 1 for 12).
