Leukaemia
Both the daughters of A. M. Sammi Gaffoor of 66/F, St. Joseph's
Street, Colombo 14, Fathima Sammera, aged 9 and Fathima Rikasa, 4, are
suffering from leukaemia, Surgical intervention followed by blood
transfusion has been recommended by medical specialists led by Director
of Meenakshi Mission Hospital and Research Centre, in Medurai, India.
The approximate cost of surgery etc. will cost Rs. 10 lakhs (US$
5180) and the parents of the children, who cannot afford the cost,
appeal to the generous public to remit their kind contribution to

Paralysis of limbs
Student Nimesha Sankapalee of 4/17, Ulugedarawatte, Nalla, Mirigama
has been confined to her bed after being paralysed due to a neurological
dis-order as diagnosed by specialist Dr. Sri Dharan of Apollo Hospital,
Colombo who performed the first surgery on her.
She has now been advised to undergo a further surgery by Dr. Raj
Kumar of Luife Line Hospital, India for which a sum of Rs. 1.5 million
would have to be found.
Her parents who find it difficult to foot the expensive medical bill
request the public for their worthy contributions. All contributions may
