New Chairman at NSB

S. R. Attygalle, the Director General of Department of Fiscal Policy of The Ministry of Finance and Planning has been appointed as the acting Chairman of NSB. He also served as a Director of NSB since 2006.

Attygalle is a graduate of the University of Colombo, who read for a First Class Degree in Mathematics. He holds a M.Sc. (Economics) from the Warwick University of UK. Attygalle is a professional Economist counting over 20 years experience in banking and Finance.

He has worked in the central bank over the years and acquired wide knowledge on every aspect of banking and finance. He also served a period of 7 years as a Economist for the Central Bank 1991-1996, as a Senior Economist from 1996 - 2003, Deputy Director for the Ministry of Finance and Planning from 2003 to 2004 and as the Director General of Department of Fiscal Policy of The Ministry of Finance and Planning from 2006 todate.

He is also a Treasury Director of Lak Sathosa, Shell Gas, West Cost Pvt. Ltd and ICTA.

Attygalle will give a new lease of life to the National Savings Bank to forge ahead in the financial world.
