Appoint Commission to probe LTTE terrorism - Ven. Rathana Thera

A Presidential Commission should be appointed to probe into LTTE terrorism and its related activities with special reference to the hostile attitude of certain western countries towards Sri Lanka, said Jathika Hela Urumaya (JHU) Parliamentarian Leader Ven. Athuraliye Rathana Thera.

He said that during the humanitarian operation the Security Forces exposed the magnitude of the LTTE's underground arsenal. Velupillai Prabhakaran's dream was none other than 'Eelam' which could have been realised through the sophisticated armoury in his possession.

The country has the right to know as to who supported Prabhakaran to fight against a sovereign State, the Ven. Thera said.

Prime Minister Ratnasiri Wickramanayaka addressing the mass rally at the Parliament grounds called upon President Mahinda Rajapaksa to appoint a Presidential Commission to probe the activities of the LTTE and its shocking caches of sophisticated arms and ammunition.
