Fete de la Musique 2009

This unique musical event Fete de la Musique which began in France in 1982 has grown in popularity in Sri Lanka is once again organised by the Alliance Francaise. The Auditorium of the Alliance Francaise will be a hive of activity on June 21 when young and old take part and people of all ages go to see the performances. The musical event will be from 12 noon to 7.00 p.m. at the Auditorium.

So here's your chance to display your hidden talents - it is open to amateurs, professionals, (no age limit), individuals, School bands, Music groups, Dancing schools/groups, Ballet schools/groups. So if you can sing in any language, play any musical instrument, dance etc this is the day for you.

Pop, Jazz, Classical, Rock, Baila anything goes.... the organisers will also give a chance to the up-and coming comperes to display their talents as well. Since the show is free, the organisers will provide the hall, the sound system, the backing band which will be Annesley Malawana & the Super Chimes, or like we told you earlier you could perform with your own music group.

For participating please call over at the Alliance Francaise de Colombo, 11, Barnes Place, Colombo 7 for application forms.
