CMA business management meet to coincide with CMA launch

The CMA International Business Management Conference 2009 has been planned to coincide with the launch of the Institute of Certified Management Accountants of Sri Lanka (CMA) incorporated by an Act of Parliament No. 23 of 2009. Accounting history was created after 50 years since the incorporation of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka in 1959 when another Professional Accounting body was incorporated by an Act of Parliament for the Management Accounting Profession. This is indeed a proud occasion for Sri Lanka as we now have both Professional Chartered and Management Accounting bodies similar to India, Pakistan and Bangladesh and could now play an important role in the development of the economy in Sri Lanka and providing Management Accountants to both the public and private sectors.

The theme of the International Conference is "Managing for Success in a Downturn". Leading speakers from the South Asian countries will participate at this conference. Management accounting topics as well as the business topics which are of practical importance to members and non members will be dealt with.

We have invited eminent speakers both local and overseas to address this international conference and wish to thank them for accepting our invitation.

At the launch we have also arranged to issue the new institute certificates with the designation ACMA for Associates and FCMA for Fellows for all those members who register for the Conference.
