Two Buddha Statues will be gifted to the Midwest Buddhist Viharaya, Chicago USA by the Galtamgoda Purana Viharaya, Kirama and Sadaham Viharaya Ratmalana for Buddhist Meditation in, USA.Ven. Kirama Dhammananda Thera, who is domiciled in USA said that there was a Buddha Statue in the Chicago Medical Department as the Buddha was regarded as the greatest healer."Today the American society suffers from serious problems such as depression and stress etc due to varied problems. Many Americans crave for peace of mind, and good companionship. Some Americans who suffer from tension related problems contact the Buddhist Viharaya even at mid night seeking solace, he said.

Dhammananda Thera, who is back in the island said that a special ceremony will be held to inaugurate a "Bodhi Prakaraya" and twenty eight shrinerooms on June 4 at Mulkirigala, Katuwana, Kirama and Galtamgoda Purana Viharaya.
