No reason to withhold IMF loan - CB

The Central Bank has met all conditions of the IMF loan facility and there is no reason why it should be withheld, said Assistant Governor, Central Bank, Dr. Uthum Herath.

He said there are no external factors obstructing the granting of the loan as the situation is quite conducive following the achievement of peace and stability in the country.

"Central Bank has completed all technical matters relating to the disbursement of the loan and hopefully the matter would be taken up at the IMF Board meeting within the next two weeks", Dr. Herath said.
