Haritha Aruna and Towards a new green era, written by Minister of
Environment and Natural Resources Patali Champika Ranawaka, was
presented to Maithreepala Sirisena, Minister of Agricultural Development
and Agrarian Services Development.
Nature photography competition 2009
The certificates of the winners of the Nature photography competition
2009, Organized by the Central Environment Authority and the Ministry of
Environment, was presented by distinguished guests on WED programme held
on June 5.
The first, second and places for National level open competition of
`Natural Beauty' went to U. A. Wimarsha de Silva, D. S. S. Dodampe and
H. C. Silva respectively.
The first, second and places for National level open competition
`Beauty of post consumer polythene and plastic' went to Luxman Ruwan
Pathirana, E. M. Jayatissa and Willaraarachchi respectively.
The first, second and places for National level school competition of
`Natural Beauty' went to J. R. E Anushka Jayakodi, K. G. D.
Priyadharshana Kumara and J. S. Melissa Jayasundara respectively.
The first, second and places for National level school competition of
`Beauty of post consumer polythene and plastic' went to R. Geethanjana
Perera, L. P. N. Dulanjalee Pathirana and Yaso Siriskantharaja
respectively.
Awards ceremony
Awards for 'Environment friendly occupations' were also presented at
the ceremony of June 5. The activities and operations of the respective
fields were closely monitored by the Ministry of Environment when
selecting the winners.
