Lucky Peiris promoted DIG

The director of the Traffic Police Headquarters, Lucky Peiris, has been promoted to the rank of Deputy Inspector-General with immediate effect and placed in charge of special operations in Colombo.

DIG Peiris will now head Traffic Administration and Road Safety headquarters with the added responsibility of special traffic operations in the city.

Known as a meticulous investigator, DIG Peiris has in recent years specialised in traffic administration and road safety and was responsible for introducing Traffic Impact Assessment (TIA) reports for urban development projects.He is a member of the National Road Safety Secretariat and represents the police department and the Inspector General of Police at Parliamentary Select Committee hearings.
