ATHLETICS: Faculty of Humanities and social Sciences with 108 points
emerged champions at the Inter-Faculty Athletic Meet of Ruhuna
University held at the University Grounds at Wellamadama, Matara.
There was a `tie' for the runners-up berth between Faculty of
Engineering and Faculty of Management and Finance with 79 points each.
In fourth place was Faculty of Agriculture with 34 points. In the
Overall Sports Championships in 2009, the champions faculty was Faculty
of Management and Finance with 152 points, with Faculty of Engineering
coming second with 127 1/2 points with Faculty of Science in third place
with 109 points. In fourth place was Faculty of Humanities and Social
Sciences with 102 1/2 points, fifth was Faculty of Agriculture 82 1/2
points, sixth was Faculty of Medicine 70 points and seventh was Faculty
of Fisheries and Marine Sciences and Technology 40 1/2 points.
