CSE's creditable performance
The Colombo Stock Exchange created history on June 18 by recording
the highest number of transactions for a trading day. A total of 15,290
trades were executed, surpassing the previous record of 13,254 trades on
July 28 2005. The turnover for the day was Rs. 2.0 billion.
The Colombo bourse has seen a significant growth during the year
2009, with the All Share Price Index (ASPI) recording a gain of 60% for
the year to date,and the Milanka Price Index (MPI) recording a growth of
66.3%, year to date. This performance has made the CSE the 4th best
performing market worldwide, according to Bloomberg Newswire. |
