He said that Sampath Bank is the first reputed bank to go to Jaffna
and conduct the whole process of interviews taking the hassle of
travelling and accommodation away from the candidates. He said by going
to the door step of the candidates and conducting the whole process of
interviews will give a flavour of the process to candidates who have
fulfilled the minimum requirements. On the other hand we are able to
recruit the cream as there are many candidates.
Bogahalande said that all candidates who have fulfilled the minimum
requirements will go through the process of facing a preliminary
interview and three written tests in English, IQ as well as a
psychometric tests. Once we complete this process we will get back to
Colombo and do the final selections. He said the selected candidates
will have to come to Colombo to get the appointment letters as well as
for the induction program.
The normal induction program consists of technical aspects but the
induction program for these recruits will consist of technical as well
as other aspects of the bank.
The people who are recruited Join team Sampath on the permanent cadre
and will enjoy all the benefits and perks of a permanent staffer. The
bank will recruit 50 persons including experienced bankers as well as
new comers.
He said that in the East too Sampath Bank conducted interviews and
recruited staff for the six branches located in Ampara, Kalmunai,
Kaththankudy, Batticaloa, Akkaraipattu and Trincomalee.
Bogahalande said that due to a large pool of people the bank was able
to recruit the cream and they are doing very well.
In the East we customised some products to suit the needs of the
Muslim customers.
In the Eastern Province there is a derth of English teachers which
has resulted in the children getting poor results for English and very
good results for other subjects.
At a meeting when this was highlighted by the Chief Minister the bank
volunteered to start a program to train the teachers as a CSR project.
Under this program experienced English Teachers will train the other
English teachers on a ongoing basis. |
