PB geared to meet needs of IDPs

People's Bank -the giant amongst banks in Sri Lanka, powered entirely by professional people, for ordinary people recognised as the benchmark financial institution will have on offer some unique financial aid specially developed to suit Internally Displaced People such as fixed deposits, jewellery pawning, savings accounts, foreign fund transfer and micro financing assistance to rebuild shattered livelihoods of those engaged in fishing, dairy farming, cottage industries and agriculture, says CEO/General Manager of People's Bank P. V. Pathirana.

We have been serving our northern brethren with care and concern for decades despite the untold hardships and burdens heaped on us even during the war with our friendly presence felt in areas as Atchuvely, Chavakachcheri, Chankanai, Chunnakam, Jaffna Kannathiddy, Jaffna Main Street, Jaffna University, Jaffna Stanley Road, Kankesanthurai, Kayts, Nelliady, Point Pedro, Valvetithurai, Kilinochchi, Mannar, Mankulam, Murunkan, Mallaithivu, Paranthan, and Vavunia and now we're planning to be even closer to you "folks" - with People's Banking Service Centres in Navalar Road, Pondithirippu, Kalviyankadu, Puloly, Kopay, Puttur and Uduppidy in Jaffna and Kurumankadu, Pesalai and Nanattan in the Wanni Area, said Deepal Abeysekera, Head of Marketing and Public Affairs of People's Bank.We've been a welcome relief to Internally Displaced People in Pareyanalamkulam, Anandakumaraswamy, Kadiragamar, Ramanathan and Arunasalam Relief Camps with our Mobile Units attending not only to their monetary well-being but also addressing their concern for loved ones' well-being in far off lands through our overseas connections', emphasized the CEO/General Manager "During the recent visit to the Relief Villages by the Governor of the Central Bank of Sri Lanka, Ajith Nivard Cabraal and the other Senior Officers of the Central Bank of Sri Lanka witnessed our Banking operation in the relief villages and expressed their satisfaction" he added.
