This is the 15th Ms Lanka - Beauty for a Cause and according to Ms.
Gwendoline Kuhatheva the main objective of this pageant this year is to
support Scholarship Programmes for deserving talented students in
Vocational Training which is of utmost importance in today's competitive
world.
This would be a further step towards the challenging of the academic
excellence and well roundedness of these young people who will be chosen
for training. As such the organisation is seeking benevolent financial
support for this activity to achieve their goals.

In the previous years the proceeds from Ms Lanka - Beauty for a Cause
has supported many worthy causes like the Daya Mina Mentally handicapped
Children's Vocational Centre, the training of differently abled persons
(deaf persons) in hair dressing and setting up of a salon at the Deaf
and Blind School in Ratmalana. The proceeds have also gone towards to
the Lady Ridgeway Hospital New Ophthalmic Unit to purchase a Tono Pen to
measure the eye pressure of the infants. There are other instances too
which will be revealed in the weeks to come.So the search is on for Ms
Lanka 2009, keep your applications rolling in and be in the forefront of
Beauty for a cause. Ms Lanka 2009 and Miss Sunday Observer Queen are two
prestigious titles to compete for.
Last year 2008 Ms Lanka 2008 was Sanduni Tharaka while Nilusha
Sarojini was crowned Miss Sunday Observer. This year 2009 its going to
