Nutritious food to promote vegetarianism
In an era, animals, people, are no more than digits in a balance
sheet in many large trading organisations in the world. Sunanda
Paranagama Weerasinghe has chosen her livelihood to propagate
non-violence by offering healthy nutritious vegetarian food products
under her own brand, Super sun and Classic brand.
Vegetarian nutrition is far more healthier to the body and mind
alike. A true follower of Lord Buddha's philosophy who can analyze the
first precept invariably becomes a vegetarian.

In a world led by restless minds, governed by greed, hatred, and
misconceptions, we need fresh thinking to change our lives to be on the
path to a true human being which leads to divinity.
We are divinity in disguise it awaits to be unfolded with the right
ingredients of thoughts, words and actions. Her effort of livelihood
inspired by Mahatma Ghandhi's life story as a child to contribute to
this path today is for the true peace and happiness of the universe.
We need to respect mother nature to receive her abundance to live by
her treasures.
Even though I am a small company and my contribution relatively
small, if it awakens the minds of the people to be truly human by being
vegetarian and knowing that they are on the path of non-violence in
action would lead some day to create the divine minds within them to be
epitomes of unlimited loving kindness to creating towards a true world
of humanity.
She has obtained HACCP certification for her manufacturing facility
with the help of SLSI and EDB scheme. She has won prestigious awards
such as The Most Innovative Food Product Range by National Agribusiness
Council 2007 and The Most Innovative Enterprise 2008, The Best Women
Enterprenuer 2008 by Women's Chamber of Industry and Commerce. She is
the President elect for Sri Lanka Food Processors Association 2009 and
the Chairperson of the Committee For Cleaner Dinning conducted jointly
by the Sri Lanka food Processors Association and the Public Health
Department of Colombo Municipal Council sponsored by Uni Lever (Ceylon)
ltd.
We have chosen 30 leading Colombo school canteens with many
shortcomings in both hygienic standards and nutritional aspect of the
food available. We intend to bring about a change to these canteens,
recognize them and award them for quality and hygienic standards
maintained by them. Sri Lanka is blessed with a great variety of
cereals, pulses, vegetables and fruits. Modern scientists have
identified the value of vegetarian diet to refrain from various diseases
that people have afflicted with such as heart, high blood pressure,
diabetes, cancer.
With current fast food habits India is known to become the highest
population of diabetes. Sri Lanka is not far from it. They recommend
complete protein in soy protein for vegetarian and the health conscious
as it has all the amino acids that animal protein contains without
cholesterol, the blessing of being vegetarian. Vegetarian diet is very
low in cholesterol. Soy Protein is equal to milk, eggs and meat protein
amino acid profile. Lentil protein also is high quality protein having a
