SLT streamlines NSB communication operations
Sri Lanka Telecom, the nation's communication powerhouse is proud to
announce the strengthening of its long-term relationship with the
National Savings Bank (NSB), a pioneer in the banking industry by
providing them with a comprehensive superior communication solution and
becoming their main communication service provider for their nation-wide
branch network. Voice communication @ NSB - National Savings Bank has
continuously showed its firm commitment to serve its valued customers
and business stakeholders.
SLT has already provided the Bank with a total voice communication
solution by installing state-of-the-art PABX infrastructure for
inter-branch calling facility, providing SLT Megaline (wired PSTN) and
SLT Citylink CDMA connections and dedicated high capacity digital (E1)
connectivity. This high capacity digital (E1) connectivity handles the
Bank's large volume of voice communication traffic.
Over a period of time, NSB's data network has already been put in
place as the backbone infrastructure by using SLT's advanced IP based
technology on the most trusted and reliable island-wide broadband
network in the country.
Utilizing this total communication solution, NSB is able to minimize
its communications costs of 143 locations, which include head office,
branches, ATMs and saving centres all over the country.
Broadband internet access @ NSB - SLT Broadband internet services are
provided through high capacity dedicated internet Leased Line (ILL) and
ADSL technology, providing connectivity to SLTnet, the largest ISP in
the country.
With this broadband connectivity, SLT provides internet facility to
NSB with a super fast access to online web applications such as web
search, web mail, calendar, images, VoIP calling applications, audio,
video and maps amongst a host of other most popular features on the
