The latest flick to hit Majestic Cinema, Transformers 2:Revenge of
the Fallen is a hit with the likes of Megan Fox and Shia LaBeouf
wreaking havoc with the action. However, another super dude Ramon
Rodriguez is also having a ball. Ramon played with toy Transformers as a
kid, but in the blockbuster brawling-robots movie, they’re the ones
playing with him.
He stars in ‘Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen’ as Leonardo Ponce
De Leon Spitz, Shia LaBeouf’s conspiracy-theory roommate whose belief in
sentient machines from another planet gets big-time confirmation as he
is pulled into the battle between Autobots and Decepticons. The movie
has earned $339 million in three weekends.
Liberty is now freezing with cinema patrons who are decked in warm
clothes to check out Ice Age 3:Dawn of the Dinos. Ice Age 3 really comes
to life as our quirky family comprising the mammoths Manny (Romano) and
Ellie (Latifah), Diego the sabre-tooth tiger (Denis Leary), Sid the
bumbling sloth (Leguizamo) and Ellie’s possum brothers Crash and Eddie
(Josh Peck) end up in an adventure in a whole new world.
It all begins with Manny and Ellie expecting the birth of their baby
and Diego deciding to move on in life. This leaves a lonely Sid
stumbling into an ice cavern and discovering three eggs, which he
promptly takes as his own.
The eggs hatch into baby dinosaurs and when Momma T-Rex comes
searching, she takes them and Sid back to her world. The others give
chase and find a lost tropical world right under their own ice-covered
land.
Helping them navigate through this new dangerous world is a slightly
mad ferret called Buck (Simon Pegg) who had tangled with a giant
dinosaur he named Rudy and landed in the underground world one eye less.
Aliens Vs. Monsters
Susan Murphy (Reese Witherspoon) is hit by a meteor on the day of her
wedding to weatherman Derek Dietl (Paul Rudd), absorbing a substance
called quantonium and growing into a giant. Alerted to the meteor crash,
the military arrive and capture Susan. She is labelled a monster,
renamed “Ginormica” by the government, and sent to a top-secret prison
facility headed by General W.R. Monger (Kiefer Sutherland) and
containing other monsters: B.O.B. (Seth Rogen), a brainless,
indestructible gelatinous blob; Dr. Cockroach, Ph.D. (Hugh Laurie), a
mad scientist with the head and abilities of a cockroach; the Missing
Link (Will Arnett), an amphibious fish-ape hybrid; and Insectosaurus, a
colossal grub that is even larger than Susan. The monsters are forbidden
to have any contact with the outside world; while the other monsters
have been living contentedly with this lifestyle for the past 50 years,
Susan feels incredibly isolated and wishes to return to her former life.
Reese Witherspoon acts as Susan Murphy, aka Ginormica: A young woman
from Modesto, California who is hit by a radioactive meteor on her
wedding day, causing her to mutate and grow to a height of 49 feet 11.5
inches (15.23 m).
Somewhat meek and unassertive, she initially wants nothing more than
to return to her old life, but gradually warms up to her new status as a
monster. Due to her exposure with the meteorite’s radiation, in addition
to her size, she is amazingly strong and has a resistance to energy
attacks, making Gallaxhar’s weapons all useless against her. Check this
