Defence Secy. to fete 'Rajan Servicemen'

A ceremony will be held at the "Lake View" premises on Friday, July 31 with Secretary of Defence Gotabhaya Rajapaksa as the chief guest to felicitate "Rajan Servicemen" who were engaged in the terrorist conflict which devastated the country during the last thirty years.

Old boys of Dharmaraja College who at present serve in the Armed Forces and the Police will be present at the occasion.Thirty two officers and others who were old boys have sacrificed their lives in the conflict.Their parents and next of kin are expected to participate at the event.

The chief guest Gotabhaya Rajapaksa will be received by the Principal, together with staff and old boys and a guard of honour will be accorded to him by the College Cadets.

He will also pay respect at the Heroes Memorial by laying wreaths as a mark of respect to the Rajans who laid down their lives on behalf of the country.
