WNS Global Services approved as ICASL training institute

WNS Global Services (Pvt) Ltd, one of Sri Lanka's leading BPO organizations obtained certification as an approved training organisation of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka (ICASL) for Final level training.

The certificate was handed over to Dushan Soza, Managing Director of WNS Global Services by the President of the Institute Mr Nishan Fernando

The ICASL is the National Professional Accounting body of Sri Lanka with over 4000 members and over 30,000 registered students and is the sole Accounting and Auditing Standards setting authority in Sri Lanka.

The Institute is a member of the International Federation of Accountants (IFAC), The Confederation of Asian and Pacific Accountants (CAPA) and a Founder member of the South Asian Federation of the Accountants (SAFA).

Today its' members hold the highest professional qualification available to Accountants in Sri Lanka. Speaking on the occasion the President of ICASL stated that 'ICASL' being the premier accounting body in Sri Lanka has now revised its curriculum in response to the globalization of business activity and professional educational environment. Mr. Fernando further added that "This is the first time that ICASL has recognized a BPO company in Sri Lanka for its Final level training , with the aim of enhancing the number of training opportunities for students".

Employees of WNS will now be able to undergo the statutory requirement of training of the ICASL in order to become a fully qualified Chartered Accountant whilst working at WNS. Mr. Dushan Soza Managing Director WNS Global Services stated that "This recognition for articleship will help WNS to attract and recruit quality finance professionals with great ambitions and given the clear career paths retain and grow their talent.

In addition, this will also help all our employees who are members of other accounting bodies a fast track to obtain their Charter with the Institute of Chartered Accountants.

This certification is a reflection of the wide range of finance and related activities being performed by WNS complying to International Accounting standards and best practices adopted. Mr Soza further added that "WNS can be showcased as a Finance and Accounting Centre of Excellence.
