Sunday Observer Fashion Designer of the Year 2009:
A prestigious event - not to be missed
 The
prestigious happening event the Fashion Designer of the Year 2009 will
be held on October 17 at the BMICH in association with Sunday Observer
and Daily News. The contest presented by the well known Fashion
Designer, Chula Nanayakkara Ariyaratne is once again open to all
aspiring young female and male designers. Chula has just returned from
London after having presented a fashion show for the Commonwealth
Countries Ladies League organised by Charmaine Jayatilleke. All outfits
for this show which was held on July 23 and July 25 were designed by
Chula.
If you have the talent to put your creative ideas on paper and wish
to be recognised as the Fashion Designer of the Year, then this contest
is just for you. Fashion conscious participants must sketch their
entries for the four categories - sports wear, office wear, evening wear
and saree wear. The entry coupon with all necessary details will be

There is no age limit for participation. The semi-final will be held at
the end of August. Ramzi Rahman will again be responsible for the hair
and make-up for the models. The sportswear segment of the contest is
