being overtaken by the digital revolution. Authors of the work exhibited

late Sena Kothalawela, the late Dr. S. R. Kottegoda, P. U. Pathirane,

The Photographic Society of Sri Lanka is the oldest society of its
kind in the country, with a history that goes back over 100 years to the
days of Henry Lorenz Wendt, the father of Lionel Wendt. The Society's
objectives are the same as those of its founders, namely The advancement
of the art and practice of photography among the amateurs of the island.
Among the Society's main activities are its Annual International
Photographic Exhibition that has been held annually for over 50
consecutive years, and its increasingly popular Beginners' Course in
Film and Digital Photography. The Photographic Society of Sri Lanka
continues to operate today as a non-profit organization run by
volunteers, and welcomes anyone interested in the art of photography.
