The 2009 State Literary Awards presentation took place at
the Presidential Secretariat on September 14.The prestigious
Sahithyarathna title was conferred on Prof. Tiss Kariyawasam,
Dr. Kandiah Kunarasa and Prof. Ashley Halpe in recognition
of their contribution to enrich Sri Lankan academia and
cultural milieu in Sinhala, Tamil and English languages.
