ODEL expands wings
ODEL will be opening its new branches in Moratuwa, Panadura and other
key locations in the city to cater to the growing upmarket clientele as
new venues have been created in fashion, clothing and tourism industries
which will develop at a rapid pace, said founder and CEO, ODEL Otara
Gunawardene.
The CEO was addressing a ceremony on Tuesday to launch the
traditional family Christmas seasonal makeover at the ODEL flagship
store in Colombo.
"Christmas this year has more significance to Sri Lankans who could
celebrate the season with peace and happiness. A conducive environment
has been created for travel and leisure activities as it was on a low
key for several years", Gunewara dene said.
The new stores will help cater to a wider customer base and provide
more employment to youth in the country. Currently around 500 are
employed across all ODEL outlets.
ODEL extended its operations this year by opening state-of -the-art
retail stores in Mount Lavinia, Majestic City, Dickmans Road, Nugegoda,
Kohuwela and Ja-Ela.
"Our seasonal offer has always been a statement of style, good cheer
and optimism. ODEL is on the threshold of a new phase of expansion and
this year's Christmas has a symbolic significance for the company",
Gunewardene said.
