SLFEB given powers to nab illegal foreign job agents
The number of raids made on illegal foreign job
agents increased this year following the amendment to the Foreign
Employment Bureau Act, said Chairman, SLFEB, Kingsley Ranawaka. He
said, around 160 raids were carried out this year and there is a
marked increase compared to previous years.

SriLankan flies to more destinations
SriLankan Airlines will increase its frequencies
to Italy, the United Kingdom, Germany and France and hoping to
re-connect more flights to Indian destinations, said CEO of
SriLankan Airlines, Manoj Gunawardane. He said that the Airline will
start flights to Milan from December 16 and operate two daily
flights to London.

Insurance Co. for shipping launched
To cover all aspects of risks pertaining to the
shipping industry a new Sri Lankan Insurance company affiliated to a
British Insurance company was launched in Sri Lanka recently. A
Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between S.B. Resources (Pvt) Ltd
and S.B. Resources of the United Kingdom was signed at a function
held in Colombo recently.
