President rendered yeoman service to Muslim community - Ashraff Congress

Even though the Muslim political leadership thrice succeeded in propping up the post of Presidency through brilliant diplomacy and prudent strategies today such ability and efficiency have become a thing of past, leader of Ashraff Congress, S. Subairdeen said.

He said that President Mahinda Rajapaksa is well acquainted with the Muslims when compared to other presidential candidates. "Amidst many odds and obstacles in his political field, he is ardently marching towards rebuilding Sri Lanka.

He is not only a friend of Sri Lankan Muslims but also a compassionate friend of Muslims all over the world", Subairdeen said.

He mentioned the reasons for Muslims to vote for President Mahinda Rajapaksa.

The glory of President Mahinda Rajapaksa cannot be diminished by casting aspersions against him. President Mahinda Rajapaksa protected the country from the atrocities and massacre of innocent people carried out by the LTTE.

When Sri Lanka was on the verge of separation, President Mahinda Rajapaksa united it defeating the terrorism, he added.
