Nuwan cracks third ton for the season

CRICKET: Middle order batsman Nuwan Kavinda completed his third hundred for the season as S. Thomas' College forced a draw to their annual inter school under 19 cricket tournament match against Wesley College which concluded at Campbell Park yesterday.

However Wesley College earlier snatched a one run first innings lead following two splendid half centuries from skipper Dulanjan Wijesinghe (60) and vice captain Ranindra Sooriyakumar (63).

S. Thomas': 246 for 9 decl and 207 for 4 (B. Dharmasena 29, S. Peiris 21, N. Kavinda 115 n.o, A. Fernando 22 n.o, D. Wijesinghe 3 for 45).

Royal draw with Ananda

Opener Cahalaka Bogoda hit a fighting half century as Royal College forced a draw to their annual inter school under 19 cricket tournament match against Ananda College which concluded at Reid Avenue yesterday.

Ananda:6 for 6 decl and 232 for 5 (G. Wimaladharma 48, U. Nadeeranga 27, M. Jayaratne 47, R. Sharmen 77 n.o, R. Rambukwella 2 for 34).

St. Benedict's College took first innings honours over Thurstan College in their inter school under 19 cricket tournament match which concluded at Kotahena yesterday.

Nalanda College trounced Joseph Vaz College outright by an innings and 106 runs in their inter school under 19 cricket tournament match which concluded at Wennappuwa yesterday.

Nalanda: 340 for 9 decl.
