Emerald House champs at athletic meet

Athletics: Emerald House with 125 points emerged champions at the Inter-House Athletic Meet of Vidura College held at the playgrounds at Thalawatugoda recently.

In second place was Sapphire House with 110 points, Ruby House came third with 110 points and Topaz House were fourth with 101 points.

In the individual championships, in the under 9 age group, Binula Samadith of Ruby House came on top with R. M. Dowmini Prasadi of Sapphire House won the under 9 girls championships. Under 11 (boys): Kavishka Palihena (Sapphire House), under 11 girls: Nisadi Gammanpila (Sapphire House).Under 13 (Boys): Dilum Hettegoda (Emerald House) came on top with Mindi Yasara Karunaratne (Emerald House) winning the under 13 girls championships. The under 15 boys championship was won by Lakshan Paranawithana of Sapphire House and Bisaru Thilakasiri of Emerald House won the girls section.

In the under 17 boys events, there was a tie for the top spot with Chalitha Hettiarachchi of Sapphire House and Piyath Rajapaksa of Topaz House taking the honours. Then in the under 17 girls events, it was Vageesha Rajapaksa of Topaz House winning top honours.
