Royal Class of ’72 breaks ground in North
Royal College Class of ‘72 has organised a series of mega events
during 2009 and 2010.
“Bridging Sri Lanka” is one such project which will pave the way to
develop and link villages of the North, South, East and West and thus
uplift the living standards of the needy to bring peace and harmony and
to have a better interaction between communities. On July 10, 2010, this
mega community service project was launched by laying the foundation
stone for a community centre in a small village named ‘KPMG Village” at
Punithar Nagar in Nelliady, Point Pedro in the Jaffna peninsula.
A special delegation consisting of Class of ‘72 President Saman de
Silva, Project Chairman Dr Hosney Cader, Azad Mansoor, Karim Shums and
Naomal Soysa represented Class of ‘72 at the inauguration of this
project in Point Pedro, which was co-ordinated by Rajendra Theagarajah
and Shanker Somasunderam.
A colourful ceremony was organised by the Hatton National Bank’s
Nelliady branch.
