Royal Class of ’72 breaks ground in North

Royal College Class of ‘72 has organised a series of mega events during 2009 and 2010.

“Bridging Sri Lanka” is one such project which will pave the way to develop and link villages of the North, South, East and West and thus uplift the living standards of the needy to bring peace and harmony and to have a better interaction between communities. On July 10, 2010, this mega community service project was launched by laying the foundation stone for a community centre in a small village named ‘KPMG Village” at Punithar Nagar in Nelliady, Point Pedro in the Jaffna peninsula.

A special delegation consisting of Class of ‘72 President Saman de Silva, Project Chairman Dr Hosney Cader, Azad Mansoor, Karim Shums and Naomal Soysa represented Class of ‘72 at the inauguration of this project in Point Pedro, which was co-ordinated by Rajendra Theagarajah and Shanker Somasunderam.

A colourful ceremony was organised by the Hatton National Bank’s Nelliady branch.
