More dry rations for IDPs

The dry rations quota provided for IDPs is to be increased, Deputy Minister of Resettlement Vinayagamoorthi Muralitharan said.The Deputy Minister said the dry rations for the IDPs are distributed through the World Food Program (WFP) which has agreed to increase the quantity considering the welfare of the IDPs.

This follows a discussion between the Deputy Minister and WFP Sri Lanka Residential Representative Adnan Khan at the Ministry recently.Rice, dhal, wheat flour, sugar, vegetable oil and salt are distributed to the IDPs by the WFP. Wheat flour, dhal and vegetable oil are imported from USA white sugar, rice and salt are imported from Middle Eastern countries.
