Virtusa Apprentice Program creates opportunities
Virtusa Corporation (NASDAQ: VRTU), a global IT services company that
offers a broad spectrum of business consulting and outsourcing services,
announced that a total of 171 graduates and undergraduates successfully
completed the Virtusa Apprentice Program under the company's Campus
Reach Initiative. The graduation ceremony was held recently at Virtusa
World premises.
Speaking at the event, Director HR Prasanna Obadage said "The Virtusa
culture is to breed leadership within the company. The apprentices today
are our future leaders and are fit to face the world with complete
confidence, both professionally and individually." The Virtusa
Apprentice Program is an industry orientation program that allows an
apprentice to get trained in a specific area of interest that will
enhance their knowledge and skill to face global challenges and
expectations. The program was initiated to bridge the gap between
academic learning and the competencies required by the IT industry
allowing an individual to put 'theory into practice' and use their
academic knowledge to devise solutions to customer requirements.
Speaking about the value of such a program, an apprentice Ayesha
Ansar said, "As a fresh graduate, the idea of working full time at a
leading organisation left me intimidated. The Virtusa Apprentice Program
was the ideal set up to boost my confidence to face the challenges that
many years at university never tackled. The Apprentice Program covered
many essential points, whether it be coding practices, small tricks of
the trade or the nitty-gritty's of being a Software Engineer.
