Hikka Beach Fest 2010

Today is the last day of the party!:

Labelled this time around as ‘Scintillate 2010’, the shores of Hikkaduwa are sure to steam with some of the biggest partying names around the world this weekend at the Hikkaduwa Beach Festival 2010. The party started on Friday July 30, with the White party and continued until the wee hours of dawn onto the mega event Scintillate, the Hikka Beach Fest 2010 just got bigger, better and bolder!

Yesterday was Summer Lovin’ which really got the crowd into a huge jet of a groove topped with a cherry today will be the more mellow and souled out moods of the Soul Funk Sessions.

The event management company responsible for the festival is Event Connections Private Limited which has joined forces with French Seduction, a world renowned international musical theme generating the best parties the world has to offer. It is estimated that more than 3,000 party goers are expected to dance till the break of dawn which is sure to give Hikkaduwa the tourist boost it deserves after the dawn of peace. Here is a look at those who rocked the beach to a shake during the weekend.

DJ Miss Kiyami

The world knew Miss Kiyami in 2002 when she became a DJane inspired by the rhythmic and gyrating nightlife of Berlin, engulfed in its musical groove of electronia. From 2005, Kiyami made her hobby, her passionate occupation and went to create dance frenzy with her hit “Suck my Discotheque” club tour where she firmly made her mark. He racy and spicy “glamour-house” and danceable electro-tech beats characterise her sounds and with her regular guest performances on the party “model-nights” of party-king Michael Ammer, Miss Kiyami became a household name in the house and party scene.

During the past few years, the Miss went on to be a DJ professional in the German Fair “Disco Contact” and last year performed a powerset at the “DJ meeting” in Dortmund. Along with vocal-hosts such as Cosmo Klein she is also known for producing the music for singer Ida Corr. Miss Kiyami has provided the vinyl for pulsating dance floors and breathtaking nights!

With work at her resident clubs like “China lounge” in Hamburg and the “Bangaluu” in Berlin, Miss Kiyami sure has set the bar for many mega show nights. Miss Kiyami is also one of the most frequently booked DJanes in Germany!

KEEMO and the Coyote Girls

DJ Keemo and the Coyote girls are Ibiza’s premiere dance troupe who is sure to burn the stage with their dance rage.

DJ Mouss

DJ Mouss is the official DJ of the World’s Finest Clubs, the “World Club Tour 2010” has a very impressive biography. Thanks to his originality and spunk, his beats are renowned in the most beautiful VIP Clubs on all continents. He has also tasted immense success as a radio DJ, appearing on NRJ Radio, is also a technial DJ, a VJ and an album DJ, famous for his technical and musical scratch skills that allowed him to win many championships like World ITF Champion Team (2000), French DMC Champion Team (1998-1999), French DMC Cup winner (1998-1999), Morocco DMC Champion (1997-1999) and French DMC Vice–champion (1997).

MC Eklips

Eklips is a French hip hop MC who specialises in beatboxing or vocal percussion. He is one of the three-member of a French band called Le Remède. He is known for his use of a loop pedal manipulated by hand for creating beats which allows him to overlap effects upon his beats.

DJ Fame Luck

Born in Morocco, Fame Luck is the hottest DJ name to come out of Switzerland dishing out the most fantastic moves in the R&B club scene. Fame Luck found popularity and success in Swiss clubs such as MAD (Lausanne), Liquid (Bonn) and Platinum Glam (Berlin).

DJ Majestic

Popularly known as the Dancefloor King, DJ Majestic made his presence felt back in the day in 1984 taking the DJ industry by storm with his beat-rocking moves. Over the years, he has mixed and revamped his style to whip up something delicious with every show and has impressed many party people.

DJ Tareeq

One of Sri Lanka’s versatile DJs and founder of the DJ Academy in Sri Lanka, Tareeq Musafer is a key developer of the DJ curriculum. Tareeq is also the author of ‘Learn to be a DJ’ and has inspired many to take to the console!

DJ Misodisko

Daniel Vorbach plays as DJ Misodisko at Park Street Mews. Having a natural flair for unearthing and restyling the world’s best and rarest funk, soul and old skool classics on vinyl records, he offers the best vibes ever!
