 Tina Turner became one of the most commercially - successful
international female rock stars to date. Her sultry, powerful voice, her

his singer failed to turn up. Soon Anna Mae Bullock (Tina's maiden name)
was drafted into Ike's band.

large and small R&B and Soul venues with their energy and excitement
generated stage shows. But it was not for long.
Destiny stepped in and after a stormy relationship, the marriage
failed. Then Tina Turner launched her solo career. Her album Private
Dancer was a runaway success and she won four Grammys for the hit songs
on this album.
Her next album Foreign Affair was a phenomenal success selling nine
million copies, and spawned the hit Simply The Best which became a
popular song for sports team and athletes worldwide, as well as being
featured in various advertisements. Tina Turner was a dynamic live
performer and recording artiste able to thrill audiences like no other
woman in music history.
