Indian FM due in October
Nirupama Rao's visit to the island this week will be a precursor to
the State visit of Foreign Minister S. M. Krishna in October, a Foreign
Ministry spokesperson said yesterday.
He said the Indian Foreign Minister will be here in the latter part
of October to attend the Indo-Sri Lanka joint commission meeting.
Mrs. Rao will arrive in the country on Monday and undertake a visit
to the IDP camps and Indian funded projects in Jaffna, Vavuniya and
Kilinochchi on Tuesday.
The Foreign Secretary is expected to visit Trincomalee on Wednesday.
She will hold a bilateral meeting with the Foreign Minister Prof. G. L.
Peiris early Thursday and is scheduled to meet President Mahinda
