M. H. Mohamed honoured with prestigious award

Former Minister and Chairman of the Sri Lanka Islamic Centre M. H. Mohamed was honoured with a prestigious Award at the Golden Jubilee Celebrations of the World Muslim League - Rabitaa Al-al-Al Islami in Mecca, Saudi Arabia for his service to Islam and Muslims recently.

Naif Abdul Azeez Al Zaid, the Deputy Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia handed over the Award to M. H. Mohamed in Mecca. Mohamed is the Founder Member of this oldest and prestigious Islamic Body in the World. Mohamed participated at this Conference on the invitation of the King of Saudi Arabia. Islamic Leaders from various countries participated and Mohamed is the only recipient of this Award. Mohamed said that this is a honour to Sri Lanka specially to the Muslim Community.

Islamic Development Bank and Rabitha which are affiliated to the world Muslim League and in collaboration with Sri Lanka Islamic Centre have regularly provided assistance to Sri Lanka.
