'My Girl' - Stevie Wonder
I've got sunshine, on a cloudy day...
When it's cold outside, I've got the month of May.
I'd guess you'd say,
What can make me feel this way?
My girl,
My girl,
My girl,
Talking bout my girl.
My girl!
I've got so much honey the bees envy me.
I've got a sweeter song than the birds in the trees.
Well I'd guess you'd say,
What can make me feel this way?
My girl,
My girl,
My girl,
Talking bout my girl.
My girl!
I don't need anybody,
Oh just my baby.
I've got all the riches baby,
One man can claim.
I'd guess you'd say,
What can make me feel this way?
My girl,
My girl,
My girl,
Talking bout my girl.
My girl!
The genius in the Motown Sound
With more than 30 US top ten hits and 22 Grammy Awards, the most ever
awarded to a solo artiste, Stevie Wonder the blind bright star of the
Motown Records Tamla label, still continues to shine on the music scene.
A multi instrumentalist and singer, song-writer of rare distinction
started his music career at the age of eleven.
One of the many singles he recorded for the Motown World was the
catchy My Girl with a Stevie Wonder stamp. The single rocked the global
charts and led other groups to make covers of the song. Recognised as
'the 12 year old genius' Stevie Wonder composed songs not only for
himself but also for all his mates at Motown.
Bob Dylan's 'Blowin in the Wind' given the Motown arrangement was a
tremendous success which reflected Stevie Wonder's social consciousness.
An icon in the music world a role model for many young musicians and
singers including the 'King of Pop' Michael Jackson, the opening bars of
the song 'My Girl' when aired has always kept listeners and audience
rooted to the spot to appreciate the song.
