MPs proposals to be incorporated into Budget
The Budget 2011-2013 to be presented in mid
November will incorporate the proposals of MPs for the first time in
the history of Sri Lanka. According to finance ministry sources the
Treasury secretary Dr P.B. Jayasundera personally wrote to all MPs
requesting them to send their proposals on the future development
initiatives in their districts.

CB announces mandatory deposit insurance scheme
The Central Bank last week announced a mandatory
deposit insurance scheme, Sri Lanka Deposit Insurance Scheme (SLDIS)
effective October 1. SLDIS has been established under the provisions
of the Monitory Law Act with an initial capital of Rs.1.1 billion
provided by the Central Bank, Governor Ajith Nivard Cabraal said.

the International Advertising Association (IAA) at the World
