Cruising colours
A joint art exhibition by Chris Benjamin and Nisreen Amiruddeen will
be held at the Lionel Wendt from October 08 to 10.
This is the maiden art exhibition for Chris whilst Nisreen has
exhibited her works before. Both of them have used different mediums
such as water colours, pastels, acrylic, oil, charcoal and mixed media
and have also experimented with both realistic and modern art styles.
They are both displaying a collection of their recent works and the
paintings interestingly cover a wide variety of subjects and
expressions.
Both Nisreen and Chris are mentored by Mrs. Lathifa Ismail who had
given them invaluable guidance, motivation and inspiration.
'Wirujana Geesara - 3' at BMICH
Sri Lankan music lovers who like to enjoy Sinhala songs of the 1950
era will get an opportunity to do so at the "Wirudana Geesara - 3" to be
held at the BMICH on October 9 at 6.30 p.m.
The show is organised by the Seva Vanitha Unit of the Ministry of
Defence and the proceeds will be utilised for the welfare of disabled
military personnel who made a great sacrifice for over three decades to
protect the country's sovereignty and the territorial Integrity.
The musical show will be backed by the Sri Lanka Army Band, while
26 artists including the fabulous Dharmaratne brothers with Melroy,
Maxwell and Christie will perform.
The Armed Forces, Police and Civil Defence dancing troupe along with
Suraj Mapa, Damitha Abeyratna and Nehara Peris will perform dancing
items.
Api Etharam baya ne

Api Etharam Bayane ( We are not so afraid) by Upali Tenison which
represents Piliyandala Central college at the State Drama Festival will
go on the boards at John de Silva Memorial Theatre on October 6, at 5.30
p.m.
