FOOTBALL: Vihara Maha Devi Balika Vidyalaya, Kandy is a girls school,
but the girls there is very much interested in activities indulged in by
the boys. One of the sports that the girls adore is football.
In football, the girls have performed well to boost their morale to
keep up with the sport. In 2007, they became All-Island Champions and
they also won the 'Tikiri Kobbekaduwa Challenge Shield' in their annual
clash against Visakha Vidyalaya, Colombo.
This year, they were well on the way of becoming All-Island
Champions, when in the final 'an own goal' by one of their defenders
took the 'plum' away from Vihara Maha Devi Balika Vidyalaya, Kandy.
