Lanka, Anton Canisious briefing the audience on using Office
2010 to increase productivity at the Microsoft Connecting
Communities Forum. |
Microsoft Sri Lanka recently hosted the Connecting Communities forum
for not-for-profit, social service organisations and charities across
the country.
The forum was an opportunity for participants to learn and share
ideas on how to make use of ICT tools and techniques to deliver better
value to the communities they operate in and how ICT can help them be
more productive.
The forum was privy to latest technological tools and software
solutions - cloud computing, networking, resource planning, and document
storage, that help collaborate and communicate more efficiently and
effectively.
Microsoft provides support to the not for profit and community
sectors in Sri Lanka primarily through its Software Donation Program.
The large group of beneficiaries in turn touch the lives of others.
The event partners were - TechSoup Global works with Microsoft on
many initiatives, one of the biggest being to facilitate and increase
the scale of the company's software donation program; Infoshare
Guarantee Limited one of Microsoft's long-standing not for profit
partners in Sri Lanka who helps facilitate Microsoft's goal to build ICT
skill capacities and related employment opportunities for the country's
youth; and the Asian Development Bank.
