Elections Complaints Centre set up
An Elections Complaints Centre has been set up to take prompt action
on complaints from political parties, Independent Groups, candidates,
civil organisations and the public for the Local Government elections
scheduled for July 23. The centre is run by officials of the Elections
and Police Departments, a representative of each contesting political
party and two election monitoring agencies PAFFREL and CMEV.
Complaints may also be made to the District Returning
Officers/District Secretaries, Deputy/Senior Assistant and Assistant
Commissioners of Elections in the areas where elections will be held.
Complaints should be based on facts/incidents and not mere hearsay.
Informants should clearly indicate their names, addresses and contact
numbers. Anonymous complaints will also be entertained.
