Man arrested near Norway PM with knife
OSLO, July 23, (AFP) - Norwegian police arrested a young man carrying
a knife Saturday at a hotel where Prime Minister Jens Stoltenberg was
visiting survivors of a shooting rampage that left 84 dead, broadcaster
NRK said.
The suspect said he had a knife in his pocket “because he did not
feel safe,” an NRK reporter said.
The same source said the young man was a member of the Labour party’s
youth wing. The victims were all attending a summer camp run by the
Labour party’s youth wing on an island near Oslo when a gunman wearing a
police uniform opened fire.
Police could not be reached for an immediate comment. |
