Marija regains lead again with 288-vote majority

RUGBY: The contest between Kandy SC's Fazil Marija and Navy's Dev Anand is becoming stiffer with Marija occupying the top spot again with a lead of 288 votes. Marija polled in 23,607 to Dev Anand's 23,319 at the end of count number 9 at the Sunday Observer/Caltex Most Popular Rugby Player and Most popular Rugby Team 2011 competition.

Kandy's Fazil Marija is a former Sri Lanka captain and has won the Observer/Caltex Most Popular Rugby Player's award on a previous occasion. Dev Anand has impressed everyone with his timely drop kicks which has helped his club . He seems to be a strong contender for the title.
