Lyceum International, Wattala win U. 19 cricket tourney

CRICKET: Lyceum International School, Wattala that won all the preliminary round matches capped their fine performance by winning the final against Gateway College by three wickets. In this under 19 tournament, Gateway batted first and made 139 in 38.2 overs and Lyceum International made 140 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in 35.5 overs.

There were 13 International Schools that participated in the tournament. Gateway College: 139 in 38.2 overs (Anjum Hassen 26, Chaman 27; Shan Perera 3 for 20, Gavitha Wickremasinghe 2 for 28, Gihan de Soyza 2 for 21). Lyceum International Wattala: 140 for 7 wkts in 35.5 overs (Harishanth Rajendra 38, Nimasha Perera 21, Nimantha Yapa 16 not out; Dananjaya 5 for 23).
