Under-17 cricket quarter-finals Sept. 4 to 8
CRICKET: Sixteen teams qualified to meet each other in the Lemonade
Division One Under-17 Inter-school Cricket Tournament pre-quarter finals
which are now in progress.
75 teams played in the first round and 32 took part in the second
round. The 32 teams were divided into eight groups and the top two teams
of each group will meet each other in the pre-quarter finals in a knock
out basis.
The schools which qualified to meet each other in the pre-quarter
finals of the Lemonade Under-17 Division One are Royal College Colombo
vs Royal College, Panadura at Reid Avenue. Wesley vs Prince of Wales at
Campbell Park. Devananda vs Maliyadeva at Ambalangoda. S. Thomas', Mount
Lavinia vs St. Sebastian's, Moratuwa at Mount Lavinia. Joseph Vaz
Wennappuwa vs St. Joseph's, Darley Road at Wennappuwa. St. Peter's,
Bambalapitiya vs Thurstan at Bambalapitiya. Trinity vs Lumbini at Kandy.
St. Benedict's vs Dharmasoka at Kotahena.
The quarter-finals will be played on September 4,5,7 and 8 and the
semi-finals will be worked off on September 16 and 19 and the final will
take place on September 25. All matches will be played at the CCC
grounds, Maitland Crescent.
Meanwhile eight teams qualified to play in the Lemonade Under-17
Division II School Cricket Tournament quarter-finals. The schools are
Wadduwa MV, St. Peter's Negombo, St. Peter's, Bambalapitiya 'B', St.
Sebastian's, Moratuwa 'B', Veluwana MV, Colombo, Taxila College, Horana,
Anuradhapura Central vs St. Sebastian's College, Katuneriya.
