Observer - Caltex Rugby Contests:
Navy’s Dev Anand jumps into lead over Dushan Lewke

 RUGBY: The three-cornered tussle continues between the three
most popular rugby players in the country CR&FC skipper Dushan Lewke,
Navy’s Dev Anand and Kandy SC’s Fazil Marija at the end of count number
13 at the Sunday Observer/Caltex Most Popular Rugger Player and Most
Popular Rugger Club competition 2011.
Sri Lanka Navy’s Dev Anand (34,292) took over the lead from Dushan
Lewke (33,987) polling just 305 more votes than Dushan Lewke. With the
tail end of the Caltex rugby season, Kandy SC who were dominating the
local rugby scene over a decade are still occupying the number one spot
with a lead of 1,801 votes over their closest rival Sri Lanka Navy in
the Team Competition.
Also in the Team competition Navy (30,406) ousted the CR&FC (30,204)
from number two spot polling a majority of 202 votes.
