Korean language for AL students

The Education Ministry will introduce the Korean Language as a
subject at the GCE (Advanced Level) examination for the benefit of Sri
Lankan migrant workers , seeking employment in the Republic of Korea.
According to the Sri Lanka Bureau of Foreign Employment (SLBFE), the
Korean Government has pledged at least 5,000 employment opportunities
for Sri Lankan workers annually commencing January.
Education Minister Bandula Gunawardane told the Sunday Observer that
in addition to the Korean Language five other foreign languages such as
English, Chinese, German, French and Hindi are currently included in the
GCE (Advanced Level) curriculum.
