Lankan held in credit card scam in Chennai
Nandeepan, a 28-year-old Sri Lankan from Jaffna, was taken in for
questioning in connection with a credit card scam in Chennai.
He had come to Chennai to get a visa to France. Central crime branch
sleuths recovered 70 fake credit cards and 200 blank cards from
Nandeepan and his associate Vinod, 26. The duo had withdrawn Rs. 116,000
from four ATMs in Velachery and on the East Coast Road.
During interrogation, Nandeepan and Vinod revealed that they had
learnt how to make fake credit cards from another Sri Lankan Tamil,
Kumar, who is in Malaysia. TOI
