Fifth Road Race of St. Sylvester's Kandy today

ROAD RACE: The fifth annual Road Race of St. Sylvester's College organised by the School and the Old Boys will be worked off in Kandy today (Sunday), January 22nd commencing at 7.30 a.m.

Over 300 competitors under various age groups will participate in this event which will be of 15 kilometres distance. The start will be opposite St. Sylvester's College and the runners will proceed through Asgiriya Junction, Mahaiyawa, Wattaramtenna, Bahirawakanda Junction, Primrose Hill, Dodanwela Junction, Peradeniya Road and the finish will be opposite St. Sylvester's College.

Ishak Sahabdeen, a distinguished old boy of St. Sylvester's College who is a double international representing the country at both cricket and hockey, will be the chief guest. He also excelled in soccer and athletics. Lalith Boyagoda in his capacity as Chairman, Sports Committee and the President of St. Sylvester's College OBA, Gamini Ratnayake are handling all arrangements.

Also gracing the occasion as guest of honour are Past OBA President Dr. Maithri Rajapakse, Malcolm Perera and S. Mahinda along with the Principal of the School Ranil Meetiyagoda and Deputy Principal (Sports) A.K.B. Dodanwela.
