Construction EXPO 2012 in June

Construction EXPO 2012, showcasing the best in construction, locally and internationally will be held from June 29 to July 1 at the Sirimavo Bandaranaike Memorial Exhibition Centre, Colombo. The event, will provide the opportunity for exhibitors and visitors to witness the latest marvels in technology, design and equipment on one platform.

It is jointly organised by Lanka Exhibition and Conference Services (LECS)in partnership with the Ceylon Institute of Builders (CIOB).

The event is regarded as a hub, providing a meeting point to all major players in the construction industry locally and internationally. The boost in the economy has opened a new paradigm for investors and entrepreneurs in the North and the East. The event will provide far-reaching access points to stakeholders. The organisers have planned numerous promotional campaigns to bring investors and entrepreneurs from these areas.

The event will witness the best that is offered internationally with an all inclusive Indian Pavillion where key players in the industry from Mumbai, Chennai, New Delhi, Bangalore Kolkata and Gujarat taking centre-stage. Participation from Japan, Singapore, China, New Zealand, Korea and Italy will add value.

Sri Lanka being considered a hub for ports from time immemorial has helped with attention to infrastructural needs being given by state and private sectors. The building of roads, highways, and bridges have taken precedence.

Construction EXPO 2012, will be the meeting point for those interested in the infrastructure boom.

The President of CIOB, Dr. Rohan Karunaratne said that the event will be on par with the best exhibitions held around the globe.

"We want to make this event the hub for all those interested in the industry. Sri Lanka is a beautiful nation and we have peace here.

We intend to showcase the best platform for all our participants and an unparalleled experience to those visiting the exhibition.

A construction symposium including innovative, modern technology and showcasing a variety of ideas and equipment related to the industry will also be held.

The symposium will comprise comprehensive sessions. During the three-day session, participants will have the opportunity to learn the latest trends, developments and technologies related to the industry".

Director of LECS Imran Hassan said, "Our aim is to provide the platform to share ideas, technologies and new developments under one roof and give stakeholders the best possible mileage. Visitors will see a plethora of innovations, they will also have the opportunity to witness all aspects of the construction industry and the best brand names in the region under one roof," he said.
